Like other SSC exams like CGL, CHSL, CPO, JE and GD conducted to recruit candidates for various posts, SSC MTS is conducted to recruit candidates for non-technical posts as multi-tasking staff .

Staff Selection Commission has given below details of various posts to recruit candidates through SSC MTS Exam:-

• Safaiwala, etc.

SSC conducts the SSC MTS exam for those candidates who aspire to have a job in the government sector, and only those candidates who have 10th class certificate can appear for the SSC MTS exam.

SSC MTS exam will be conducted in 3 phases tier 1 and tier 2 after which the selected candidates will be called for document verification. The examination for both the stages will be of the following types.

Basically, there are three stages in SSC MTS 2020 exam and the candidates who are qualified in all the three stages will be appointed as SSC MTS Staff under SSC. The three stages of SSC MTS exam are listed below:-

• Phase I : Computer Based Test (Paper 1)
• Phase II : Descriptive Test (Paper 2)
• Step 3: Document Verification

SSC MTS Tier 1

• SSC MTS Tier 1 exam will be conducted in online mode, i.e. in CBT mode.
• The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
• The duration of the exam for visually handicapped candidates is 120 minutes.
• 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
• 0.25 or 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• The medium of examination will be in both English and Hindi.
• Objective type questions (MCQs) will be asked in the exam.

SSC MTS Tier 2

Those candidates who are qualified in Paper 1 (Tier 1) will be eligible to appear in Paper 2 (Tier 2) exam. The exam pattern for Paper 2 is tabulated:

Candidates who are appearing for Tier 2 exam will have to write a short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution. So candidates are advised to know the format of how to write an essay and how to write a letter. Knowing the format will help the candidates to crack SSC MTS Tier 2 exam easily.

• Paper 2 will be conducted offline and will be descriptive in nature.
• The duration of the exam for general candidates is 30 minutes.
• The duration of the exam for visually handicapped students is 40 minutes.
• Here candidates have to write a short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.
• Paper 2 will be of qualifying nature only.
• The objective of Paper 2 is to test primary language skills in view of re-classification of the post as Group-C.

SSC MTS Exams Pattern : Documents Verification

Candidates who will meet the SSC MTS cutoff will be eligible for further stages of selection. Candidates who are qualified in Phase 1 and Phase 2 will be called for document verification. Candidate should carry the following documents for document verification:-

1. 10th class certificate
2. Proof of Identity like PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID etc.
3. date of birth certificate
4. Passport size photo
5. Category certificate for reserved category candidates
6. Proof of residence

• Photocopies of certificates will not be accepted.
• Original certificates will be returned after verification.
